PICE Tarlac Chapter – Balik Eskwela

On August 2, 2024, the PICE Tarlac Chapter, along with the PICE TSU Student Chapter and the City Engineer’s Office of Tarlac, organized a charitable outreach event at Don Basillio Elementary School in Gerona, Tarlac. The school, identified as a high-need area due to its remote location and limited resources, was chosen to receive essential school supplies to aid its small yet diverse student population.

To ensure a smooth and efficient distribution process, the school supplies were meticulously organized according to the year levels. This pre-event preparation was crucial for facilitating an orderly and timely give-away. The bags containing the supplies were packed and labeled to match the needs of each grade, allowing for a streamlined distribution.

The event officially commenced around 9:00 AM, once all participating organizations and volunteers were present. Before the distribution began, the atmosphere was enlivened by heartwarming performances from the students. The kindergarten and grade four students took to the stage to present songs of their own choice, which brought smiles and excitement to all attendees and set a cheerful tone for the day.

The distribution of school supplies covers a variety of population per year level. With 30 kinder; 29 grade one; 26 grade two; 24 grade three; 40 grade four; 28 grade five; and 26 grade six students, the distribution was a success past 10 o’clock in the morning.

Following the successful distribution, a photo opportunity was arranged to capture the joyous occasion. All students, teachers, and facilitators gathered to commemorate the event with photographs. These moments will serve as lasting memories of the community’s collaborative effort to support education.

Upon concluding the event, the participating organizations and volunteers shared their gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to make a positive impact. With the event wrapped up, all parties began their journey back, carrying with them the satisfaction of having contributed to a meaningful cause.
